Guardian: Visit Scotland
Brief
To create an interactive website to promote tourism in Edinburgh and Glasgow; filming various scenarios that could be made into a personalised video for an interactive quiz.
Solution
The final project worked in three different areas:
- The website containing content and information highlighting VisitScotland and leading to the interactive quiz
- The interactive quiz that, based on multiple choice questions, would lead to a bespoke selection of venues making up the video guide
- The video guide. Each completed questionnaire would lead to a bespoke video containing 3 short films. These films were shot to broadcast standard quality giving a high quality to the finished piece.
The website was to include video based content that would become part of a personalised guide through an interactive quiz.
Site visitors took part in the quiz which generated a customised video guide to Glasgow or Edinburgh. The video guides were short commercial style films that would promote the venue/attraction. Attractions included restaurants, museums, and traditional tourist hot-spots.
Result
The data list for VisitScotland grew by over 20,000 members during the campaign, and careful targeting of the Guardian readership ensured that the right consumers were reached.
The website was a great success for the client, giving an original and useful web-based guide that worked for all parties involved. This success led to a continuing relationship between the client and BrandNew.
