EcoRIG

Brief

To create, design and develop a new brand identity and guidelines for the product brand, EcoRIG, which reflects its new proposition as a design-led creative solution for visual merchandising. As Ecorig is a product brand, there must be flexibility to bring out new product ranges that sit under an umbrella brand. The brand identity must be flexible to use on a range of materials including: product packaging / adverts / publicity materials / e-shots/ website / sales materials such as PPTs.

Solution

Our inspiration came from brands such as Vitra, Dyson and Apple, these are market leading brands centred around innovation and functionality. The aspirational strap line, "Brilliant Simplicity", helps to guide everything from the creation of the primary logo to the engineering of future products.

It was important that the logo was highly legible and designed with an engineered formula for future product identities, keeping simplicity in mind. The logo uses distinctive typographic which is easily recognisable, and conveys a cycle and flow by simply linking two letters together. A deep, cool grey has been used for the primary logo; giving the identity of a serious and contemporary foundation.

Each of the products has been given a bright distinctive colour; these colours are consistent in that they share similar tones and contrast well when applied to the cool grey. The modern font, Gotham, was chosen as it is clean and Germanic without being common and overused.

 

Result

The client was delighted with the logo designs and concepts created for the new brand, which launched at Westfield London on 30 October. The new brand identity has helped to position EcoRIG as a design-led innovation, with scope to grow and expand the product range under the umbrella brand.
